The daily craft of wearing hair well.

A one-to-one session on handling, washing, drying and storing your own wig, topper or hair system—practised with the piece and products you actually use.

Care made specific, not generic.

Handling & detangling

Where to hold the piece, how to reduce tension at lace and attachment points, and how to work through tangles without unnecessary shedding.

Washing & drying

A sequence suited to the fibre and construction, including water temperature, product placement, rinsing, drying and styling limits.

Storage & routine

How to store the piece between wears, organise products and recognise when home care should stop and professional help should begin.

Learn with what is already in your hands.

Bring the piece, stand or storage method, brush or comb and the products you currently use. Sarah can explain what is suitable, what should change and why.

Human hair

Condition, heat, colour history and movement affect the safe routine. Human hair does not make the base or attachment indestructible.

Synthetic fibre

Product and heat limits depend on the exact fibre. Follow the maker’s care instructions unless Sarah has identified a more specific route for the piece.

Integrated or attached pieces

Home care must account for biological hair, scalp, attachment and added hair together. If the scalp becomes sore or inflamed, pause and seek appropriate clinical advice.

At the atelier or, where suitable, at home.

Matlock atelier

A one-to-one appointment with the working surface, light and tools needed to demonstrate the routine. Visits are by appointment only.

Home visit

A visit may be possible depending on location, accessibility and availability. Travel arrangements and the quotation are confirmed before booking.

Choose the setting that helps you learn.

Make care feel manageable.

Is the session only for pieces made by Sarah?

No. Pieces from elsewhere may be included if their fibre and construction can be identified well enough to give responsible guidance.

Will you clean the piece during the session?

The session focuses on teaching and supervised practice. Ask beforehand whether the condition of the piece makes a separate valet service more appropriate.

Should I bring my products?

Yes, together with the brush, comb, stand or storage method you use. Do not buy new products solely for the appointment unless Sarah has asked you to.

Can another person learn with me?

Yes. A family member, partner or carer who helps with the routine is welcome; mention them when arranging the session.

Can you come to my home?

Yes, subject to location and availability. The confirmed prices are £95 within 10 miles of Matlock and £120 for agreed visits beyond 10 miles.

What if my scalp is sore?

Pause attachment or product use and seek advice from your clinical team or another appropriate healthcare professional. The session does not replace assessment of a scalp symptom.

Bring the piece. Bring the questions.

Sarah will explain whether an atelier or home session is the useful next step.
